Jeff and Sally were married at the elegant Eshott Hall in front of 80 of their closest family and friends. They chose to be married in March as the couple just adore springtime and they were lucky enough to have gorgeous sunshine for their wedding day. They held their ceremony in the beautiful reading room and the reception was held in the Hall itself.

The couple are true childhood sweethearts, who met during school and they have been a couple for over 15 years. Jeff proposed to Sally in the most romantic way whilst on holiday in Filey. He wrote ‘Will you marry me?’ in white stones underneath their balcony. When Sally opened the curtains in the morning it was the first thing she saw…..and of course she said YES!

We asked the couple why they chose Northumberland as their location and here’s what they said:

“We knew it just had to be Northumberland, it’s such a wonderful County and we’re so lucky to live here! It was ideal as our family and friends didn’t have too far to travel and the location and size of the venue was just perfect for us. When we went to look around the hall we both fell in love with the venue instantly. When we found out we had the venue exclusively, for the entire weekend, that was our decision made. It was great that our family and friends could stay over and enjoy the grounds”

Their favourite thing about the venue, aside from the spectacular look of it, was how great the staff

are. So friendly and professional…Sally and Jeff knew they would be in safe hands so they could relax and enjoy their special day. They plan on returning for an overnight stay and a meal on their first anniversary…where better to celebrate!

Asking the couple their favourite part of their day, they said:

“It’s difficult to choose just one thing but we’d say that the ceremony itself was our favourite part of the wedding day, with readings from our dear friend Matty and our own personal promises, it made it so special to the two of us. It was so funny as Jeff tried to say ‘I do’ too early, much to our guests amusement…not every bride gets two ‘I dos’! Our Registrar, Anthony, was just fantastic and we can’t thank him enough for making our ceremony so personal and unique.”

The couple chose a baby blue and baby pink theme for their Spring Wedding and they said the inspiration for all the touches to the wedding came from many places, but Sally said the internet was a very useful tool for getting handy hints and ideas.

We asked the happy newly-weds for some advice to other couples planning their special day and they said:

“Check out Eshott Hall, it’s amazing! But definitely have a look at a few different venues and don’t rush the decision. Use Northumberlands Ceremony co-ordination team as they’re so helpful and explain the process and help you to personalise your ceremony. On the day itself remember to relax as everything will fall into place – so have fun, smile and enjoy every moment.
